Why I Revived
the Mural before Kural
From the moment I first laid eyes on the mural "The Only Truth" at Riblja Pijaca, it left an indelible mark on my heart. Its vibrant colors and profound message resonated deeply with me, symbolizing the spirit and creativity of Novi Sad. When it was unexpectedly painted over in 2017, I felt a profound sense of loss, as if a piece of the city's soul had been erased.
The mural was created by the renowned French artist Remed (real name: Alby Guillaume), whose work is celebrated for its vibrant colors, geometric patterns, and deep symbolic meanings. Remed's art often explores themes of unity, harmony, and the human experience, drawing inspiration from a diverse range of cultural and spiritual sources. His ability to blend abstract forms with profound messages makes his work both visually striking and thought-provoking.
Following the mural's repainting, a series of mysterious and provocative graffiti began appearing on the same wall. These "Kurals" as they came to be known, stood in stark contrast to the original artwork, adding an unexpected and controversial layer to the wall's history. The juxtaposition of these crude images with the memory of Remed's sophisticated mural highlighted the significant cultural loss felt by the community.
Driven by nostalgia and a passion for preserving our cultural heritage, I embarked on a mission to bring this mural back to life, using modern technology to rekindle its vibrancy and keep its message alive for future generations. By reviving Remed's "The Only Truth," I aim to honor his artistic vision and reconnect our community with a cherished piece of its history.

The Idea Behind
the Project
The concept behind reviving "The Only Truth" is rooted in the fusion of art and technology. By leveraging Augmented Reality (AR), we have created a unique experience that allows you to see the mural as it once was, in its original location.
This project is not just about restoring a piece of art, but about reconnecting the community with a shared memory, celebrating the rich cultural tapestry of Novi Sad. It serves as a reminder that even when art is physically removed, its essence can still inspire and unite us. Our aim is to blend the past and present, offering a new perspective on how we interact with and preserve art in the digital age.
